NAIROBI Luke Stocker Titans Jersey , Feb. 11 (Xinhua) -- Over 25 foreign athletes will be involved in the national cross country trials in Nairobi on Saturday, which is part of the IAAF permit meetings.


With Kenya eyeing to fill the 24 slots up for grabs -- six athletes each for senior men's 12km, senior women's 8km, junior men's 8km and junior women's 6km races -- an explosive battle is the offing as over 350 athletes line up for selection.


"It will as always be a challenging event. Kenya will select a strong team and we hope it will weather the storm in Guiyang, China," Isaiah Kiplagat, the Athletics Kenya President said on Wednesday.

Majority of the foreign athletes are based in Eldoret at the International Olympic Committee (IOC) High Altitude Training Centre.
